073 - Photographing Georgia (PDF)
The state of Georgia has a fairly short coast line. You can drive from Savannah to the Florida state line in about two hours on Interstate 95. But if you're looking for some serious photography, you'll have to get off the Interstate to photograph wildlife refuges, sandy beaches, remote barrier islands, and a lot more. There are plenty of great locations for wildlife photography in the refuges and some very scenic landscapes along the marshes. In northern Georgia's Chattahoochee Mountains you can photograph waterfalls and wildflowers in their beautiful state parks. Georgia is a great place for autumn foliage when the color has faded across the Smoky Mountains. This newsletter has the directions to all the best locations for photography.
