016 - Wildflowers of the Arizona Desert (Print)
The Sonoran Desert is one of the first places I think of for wildflower photography
because of the great variety of plant life, the many creatures that inhabit this desert, and seasonal changes that can produce incredible displays of spring wildflowers. This newsletter suggests the best places to visit for wildflower photography in early March including
both the east side and the west side of Tucson, Arizona
. Details are provided on close-up techniques and where and when to go for great desert landscapes across the Sonoran Desert. Directions to the best trails and overlooks for sunrises and sunsets are included. Details are given on night photography of star trails and flash photography of longnose bats pollinating saguaro blossoms. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is described, a wonderful place to find wildflowers, blooming cactus and rare desert wildlife in enclosures that look like their natural environments.
